Dr. Leslie Bubela was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. At the age of eight, her family moved to Duncanville, Texas, where she remained until she graduated from Duncanville High School in 1992. She graduated from Texas A & M University in 1996 and was accepted into the University of Houston College of Optometry immediately after. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree Summa Cum Laude in May of 2000. While attending UHCO, she was a member of the American Optometric Students Association, the Student Texas Optometric Association, and the Beta Sigma Kappa honor fraternity.

Dr. Leslie Bubela is licensed and therapeutically certified in Texas where she practices general optometry. She is also a certified Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. Her career interests include primary care, ocular disease, and contact lenses. She serves as an adjunct clinical professor for the University of Houston College of Optometry. She is an active member of the Texas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
